Russian President Vladimir Putin has addressed the ongoing military operations in Ukraine, emphasizing both the necessity of national unity and the long-term requirements for military reintegration.

At a United Russia party congress, Putin asserted that Russian troops are advancing and securing territory, characterizing Ukrainian attacks as “barbaric.” He stated that the nation’s strength depends on the unity between the front lines and the home front, concluding with the assertion, “Victory will be ours.”

In separate remarks during a meeting of the State Council for Strategic Development and National Projects, Putin highlighted the need for government officials to prepare for the eventual return of soldiers. He noted that many servicemen will return with “high ambitions” and will require assistance with employment and reintegration into society. While acknowledging damage to Russian territory from Ukrainian attacks, Putin maintained that these have not resulted in serious consequences and assured that authorities would assist affected businesses in restoring logistics. Kremlin advisor Yuri Ushakov indicated that combat at current front lines is unlikely to end soon, and Russia maintains that peace negotiations must account for Russian interests, including control over the Donbass region.
