Vietnam has implemented various emergency response and safety training programs across several provinces, ranging from corporate drills to community education. Initial efforts focused on fire rescue drills at corporate and banking locations. In Hanoi, the Firefighting and Rescue Police Team No. 16 collaborated with SSI Securities Corporation to simulate an electrical short circuit at the SSI Home building, testing alarm activation, hydrant use, and evacuation procedures. Similarly, in Gia Lai province, the Firefighting and Rescue Police Team No. 11 conducted drills at the Agribank Duc Co branch, where responders used breathing masks, stretchers, and demolition tools to practice rescuing victims from simulated fires. Training initiatives have expanded to include medical and student safety. In Dien Bien province, the Dien Bien Dong Medical Center provided 60 school medical staff with instruction on first aid, food safety, and infectious disease prevention. In Hanoi, a partnership between the University of Medicine and Pharmacy at Vietnam National University and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Academy provided CPR, first aid, and fire safety training to 750 students, as part of a larger goal to train 3,000 students. More recently, authorities in Hanoi have moved toward community-based education. In Cau Giay Park, the Hanoi Firefighting and Rescue Police, alongside local ward committees, hosted a program for approximately 1,000 students and workers. Participants engaged in hands-on training with portable extinguishers and navigated simulated smoke-filled environments, learning specific protocols such as the “calm – alarm – cut power – extinguish – escape” method. Expanding these efforts, authorities conducted specialized drills for over 3,000 students, teachers, and staff at Archimedes Dong Anh School, focusing on fire escape techniques and smoke inhalation management. Recent localized programs have continued to emphasize community safety.
