Sailing regattas in the Adriatic region
Overview
Sailing events and regattas have been highlighted across the Adriatic coast, involving both traditional and competitive racing. In mid-September, the city of Pula made its first official participation in the 25th ‘Coppa del Presidente della Repubblica’ regatta in Venice. This jubilee event featured approximately seventy traditional vessels, including Pula’s historical wooden boats, the Tartana and the leut Grga.
By early October, major sailing activities continued in Croatia. The 95th Mrduja Regatta saw over 200 registered boats traveling from Split to the island of Mrduja. Simultaneously, the Pula FD Trophy, part of the Flying Dutchman Europa Cup, commenced in Pula under variable wind conditions, with Italian crews leading the initial standings.
