San Francisco 49ers Mike Evans injury status
Overview
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans has been sidelined due to Achilles tendonitis, an overuse injury that developed while he was also managing rib and hip issues. General manager John Lynch noted that the injury reached a point where it inhibited his ability to play, leading to his absence in the Week 7 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
During the team’s bye week, the organization focused on a recovery plan to reduce inflammation. Head coach Kyle Shanahan indicated that Evans is expected to potentially return for the Week 9 matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders.
