In mid‑July 2026 the Directorate of Emergency and Food Policies in San Juan Province began a mandatory re‑registration of recipients of the gluten‑free food‑module assistance. The drive, running from 27 July to 30 August, organised enrolments by department and the first letter of beneficiaries’ surnames. Applicants had to present identity documents, proof of lack of social‑security coverage, and medical verification of celiac disease; pensioners also needed salary and utility proofs. The modules provide gluten‑free products to low‑income patients who lack health‑insurance coverage.

Later in July, the national Ministry of Family and Human Development announced that federal financing for the San Juan celiac food modules would be restored after more than two years of provincial self‑funding following the December 2023 change of government. The restart coincided with the updated beneficiary registry, confirming that about 1,200 residents would continue receiving monthly packages of 10‑14 gluten‑free items. During the funding gap the province had spent over 6.2 billion Argentine pesos on various social food programs, including those for celiac patients and diabetics.
