San Juan electrical infrastructure development
Overview
In the Dominican Republic, Governor Ana María Castillo announced the completion of an electrification project in the Las Zanjas municipal district. Managed by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, the project utilized over 13 million pesos to install street lighting and residential electricity. Future plans for the region include the construction of two mini-power plants in Hondo Valle and Gajo de Bohío.
In Argentina, an audit by the E.P.R.E. as of September 2026 indicates that 83% of the budgeted amount for the San Juan electrical distribution network strengthening plan has been executed. This phase of the 2026-2031 Reference Investment Plan involves a budget of $28,011,221,140. Technical surveys confirmed progress on works by Naturgy San Juan S.A., including civil works and equipment for the Albardón-Chimbas Transformation Field No. 2, as well as distribution works at ET San Juan Sur and the expansion of ET Ischigualasto. Several transformer stations, such as ET Sargento Cabral and ET Pistacho, are either finished or in final stages.
