The state government of San Luis Potosí is implementing several infrastructure projects to modernize urban transit and improve traffic flow. In late July, work progressed on the Arena Potosí grade-separated underpass. This approximately 1 km long road structure is designed to accelerate vehicle movement in the south-central area of the city while incorporating a natural rainwater drainage system to mitigate flood risks. Construction for these is expected to resolve bottlenecks between the capital’s eastern side and begin in October following a 45-day bidding period.
