Saudi Arabia is hosting major economic and social forums in Riyadh focused on achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030. In September 2026, preparations were announced for the 12th Riyadh Economic Forum, which scheduled discussions on knowledge localization and human resource strategies. The forum aimed to address how transferring expertise and utilizing digital tools, such as artificial intelligence, can build a sustainable national knowledge ecosystem. By October 2026, the focus shifted to the second International Social Responsibility Forum. Organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, this two-day event centered on the theme ‘From Commitment to Impact’ to strengthen private sector involvement in development. The forum includes platforms to discuss corporate social responsibility (CSR) standards, digital transformation, climate change, and governance, alongside an awards ceremony for companies with measurable social impact. A delegation from Qatar, represented by Minister Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, participated to share national experiences regarding community participation and cross-sector partnerships. Additionally, the Riyad 26 Entrepreneurship Forum opened in Al-Qassim in mid-October. Held at the King Khalid Cultural Center, the event aims to foster startup growth and expand investment opportunities. It features the ‘Mashrouak’ initiative to connect entrepreneurs with government agencies. The forum also highlights ecotourism pathways through the Imam Turki bin Abdullah Royal Reserve Development Authority, showcasing how heritage resources can support small and medium-sized enterprises. On October 12, 2026, the 12th session of the Riyadh Economic Forum officially opened at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center. Inaugurated by Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of the Riyadh Region, and held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the forum runs through October 14. Discussions include traffic congestion, the impact of public policies, knowledge localization, and smart agriculture for food and water security.
