Saudi Arabia military and diplomatic engagement expansion

Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman has engaged in a series of high-level diplomatic meetings to strengthen military and regional security partnerships.

Initially, the Minister held discussions with defense officials from Italy and Greece. The talks with Italy focused on enhancing defense cooperation, specifically regarding military training and defense manufacturing to align with Saudi Vision 2030. Discussions with Greece centered on expanding military expertise and joint field coordination. Both Saudi and Greek officials issued a joint condemnation of Houthi militia attacks against Saudi territory and threats to maritime navigation.

Following these engagements, Prince Khalid met with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi. During this official visit, Prince Khalid conveyed greetings from King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The leaders discussed enhancing joint cooperation and developing common interests to benefit both nations while reviewing regional developments to bolster security and stability.

Anwar Gargash, Diplomatic Affairs Advisor to the UAE President, noted that the meeting confirms the “deep and strong ties” between the two countries, stating that their security and future are interconnected and serve as a “pillar for stability in the Gulf region.”
