Saudi Arabia Vision 2030 strategic implementation

Saudi Arabia is implementing broad strategic reforms under its Vision 2030 initiative, targeting both healthcare and economic sectors.

In the healthcare sector, the Kingdom is expanding its biomedical research and infrastructure. This includes plans by the King Abdullah International Medical Research Center to establish a specialized laboratory animal facility and a biosafety level 3 laboratory in Riyadh to support biotechnology research. Additionally, the government is transitioning toward a proactive healthcare model that utilizes big data, artificial intelligence, and predictive analytics. This transformation is supported by significant financial investments, including approximately SAR 214 billion for health and social development in 2024 and over SAR 243.75 billion for comprehensive health infrastructure and digitization.

Simultaneously, the nation is pursuing economic diversification to reduce its heavy reliance on oil. The strategy focuses on developing new sectors such as tourism, industry, technology, and logistics, while leveraging the country’s strategic geographic position and investing in human capital and digital infrastructure.
