Saudi Arabian national security awareness initiatives
Overview
Saudi Arabian authorities have introduced new initiatives focused on enhancing national security and public awareness.
On October 4, 2026, the Ministry of Interior launched the ‘Balagh’ initiative. This 60-day program seeks to foster a culture of reporting potential security risks by encouraging citizens and residents to use official channels, such as the 911 unified security operations centers and the ‘Kolluna Amn’ application.
Following this, on October 18, 2026, the Ministry of National Guard, in collaboration with the National Cybersecurity Authority, launched a mobile cybersecurity awareness exhibition. The event utilized interactive pavilions and live simulations to educate personnel on cyberattack defense. Alongside the exhibition, the ‘Bwasel’ platform was introduced to provide virtual cybersecurity exercises and simulate realistic threat scenarios to improve technical readiness.
