Saudi Vision 2030 economic diversification

In late July 2026, businessman Mohamed Tawfiq Arab highlighted how recent reforms under Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 have turned the kingdom into a prime investment hub. He pointed to rapid growth in tourism, entertainment, events, marketing, public‑relations and real‑estate, and announced plans to launch projects with local partners, urging Egyptian and Arab investors to explore opportunities backed by strong support from the Saudi leadership.

A few days later, the Saudi government’s broader diversification drive was detailed. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s Vision 2030 aims to reduce oil dependence by expanding tourism, industry, technology, entertainment, mining and renewable energy. Oil windfall profits are being channeled through the Public Investment Fund to finance large non‑oil projects, while initiatives such as the “Saudi Made” program provide a systematic roadmap for building new industries. The strategy is presented as a response to global energy transition pressures, seeking sustainable growth beyond fossil‑fuel revenues.
