Overview
Recent incidents of physical violence involving students have been reported in different Greek regions.
In Agios Nikolaos, Lasithi, a 12-year-old boy was subjected to verbal abuse and physical assault by classmates. The attack occurred both inside a junior high school and outside the premises after school hours. Two minors physically assaulted the victim while a third filmed the incident for social media. Police arrested three minors and their parents, totaling eight individuals in custody.
In Kalamata, a 17-year-old boy was attacked by a former classmate while walking to school. Video footage captured the assailant chasing and pinning the teenager down, striking him with punches and kicks to the head. The victim’s mother intervened after hearing him call for help, and the teenager was subsequently hospitalized with serious facial injuries, including a suspected bone fracture.
