School safety initiatives in Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia

Authorities in Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina continue to implement safety measures and educational campaigns to protect students as the academic year progresses. In Slovenia, the Traffic Safety Agency’s ‘Varno v šolo’ (Safe to School) campaign remains active to address high accident rates among children under 14 through reflective marker distribution and volunteer monitoring. In Croatia, safety initiatives have expanded through various regional programs. In Nova Gradiška, the Autoklub Nova Gradiška held its 17th annual ‘Safe in School with HAK’ ~~event, utilizing games and workshops in collaboration with the police, Red Cross, and fire departments.~~ event. Additionally, the 31st annual ‘Respect Our Signs’ campaign used games and exercises to teach children how to navigate crossings and recognize ~~signs, involving~~ signs. In the ~~Zagreb Civil Protection,~~ Primorje-Gorski Kotar region, approximately one hundred students at Jelenje-Dražice Elementary School participated in the ~~Red Cross, and local~~ ‘Program prometne kulture za najmlađe’ (Traffic Culture Program for the Youngest).
