The Republic Pension and Disability Insurance Fund (PIO Fund) in Serbia has provided updates regarding contribution rules and upcoming financial adjustments for pensioners. Initially, the PIO Fund clarified regulations under Article 15 of the Law on PIO, stating that individuals not in an employment relationship, such as the unemployed, may voluntarily enroll in mandatory pension and disability insurance to build service years. The Fund noted that if contributions remain unpaid for six months from the due date, the insured person’s status is terminated by official duty, and coverage ceases on the last day contributions were duly paid. Subsequently, PIO Fund Director Relja Ognjenović announced that 377.2 million euros in state aid is was scheduled for disbursement on September 14, which was secured without additional borrowing. 14.
