Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has conducted several visits to regional municipalities to discuss and announce various infrastructure and development projects. In the Užice region, Vucic announced an approximately €1 billion investment plan aimed at improving Western Serbia. This includes accelerating the construction of the highway from Užice to the border with Republika Srpska and beginning work on the 6.2-km Kadinjača tunnel. The plan also includes a €100 million health center. More recently, Vucic announced significant infrastructure investments for the Prijepolje municipality, totaling approximately 40 million euros. These funds are earmarked for road construction, including routes to Jabuka and Kamena Gora, to boost the local economy. In the Stara Pazova municipality, Vucic met with local officials and clergy to discuss the renovation of religious, educational, and cultural facilities. Discussions focused on local infrastructure improvements, such as water pipe replacement, street sanitation, pedestrian and bicycle paths, and the construction of a new cultural center. During a visit to Belegiš, Vucic highlighted regional economic growth and noted that the local budget has increased significantly since 2012. ~~More recently, President~~ Regarding Belgrade, Vucic inspected the reconstruction of the Old Railway Bridge ~~in Belgrade~~ as part of the ‘Belgrade Waterfront’ project. The bridge is being converted into a three-level pedestrian structure featuring cafes and a lookout point called ‘Belgrade Eye,’ with an expected completion date in April 2027 to coincide with Expo 2027. Vucic has expressed dissatisfaction regarding the current pace of this project.
