Sesc is marking its 80th anniversary in Brazil through various regional social, cultural, and educational initiatives. These celebrations include commemorative events in Rio Grande do Sul, wellness programs for seniors in Sobradinho, and art workshops in São Paulo. In Maranhão, the Sesc Musicar project is celebrating 20 years with a concert involving 150 students. Additionally, the organization has expanded its social tourism program in Rio de Janeiro, reorganizing boarding points for day trips and excursions to better connect the capital with regions such as Baixada Fluminense and Leste Fluminense. As part of the ongoing 80-year celebrations, Sesc and Senac are hosting national cultural programs. In Paulo Afonso, a musical performance titled ‘O encontro: a palavra, o sotaque e a invenção’ is scheduled for September 12, featuring Igor Gnomo, Ângela Veloso, and Aldair Tomé, alongside a festival of games and family workshops. In Porto Alegre, festivities at the Orla do Guaíba will offer 54 free activities spanning health, education, sports, and leisure. Nationwide programming has expanded to include musical performances by artists such as Caetano Veloso, Péricles, Xande de Pilares, and Samuel Rosa, as well as orchestral works by the Sesc Brazil Youth Orchestra. Recent expansions of the anniversary program include major musical performances in cities such as Manaus, Taguatinga, Campo Grande, Maceió, Recife, São Luís, Petrópolis, Salvador, and Cuiabá. In Rio Grande do Norte, more than 60 activities are planned across Natal, Mossoró, and Caicó, featuring health services, sports, and cultural presentations. In Rio Grande do Sul, festivities have extended to Venâncio Aires and coastal municipalities including Tramandaí, Osório, and Torres, where Sesc and Senac are hosting community events, workshops, and shows. Mid-September festivities continue to feature a diverse range of artists and formats, including theater, dance, and children’s recreation.
