Sexual assault investigation in Prahova County

Overview

Authorities in Prahova County are investigating five teenagers, aged 15 to 18, for the suspected sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl. The incident allegedly occurred in an abandoned building near Plopeni.

The case was brought to light following a report from an educational institution on September 25. Investigators believe three of the suspects used coercion and violence, while two others were present during the assault. All involved parties are reportedly students at the same school.

Following police searches in Baicoi, Slănic, and Dumbravesti, all five suspects were detained. On October 2, a court issued various legal measures: one suspect was placed in custody, two were ordered to 30-day house arrest, and two were placed under 60-day police supervision. The General Directorate for Social Assistance and Child Protection is providing support to the victim as the investigation continues.
