Shakti Pumps financial performance and expansion

Overview

Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd has reported mixed financial results for the first half of fiscal year 2026–27. While revenue from operations grew by 24.5% to ₹16,047 million, driven by a 29.3% increase in solar pump installations—totaling 51,543 units—consolidated profit after tax (PAT) saw a significant decline. Specifically, H1 FY27 profits fell to ₹901 million from ₹1,875 million in the previous year.

Management attributed the reduced profitability to rising logistics costs stemming from geopolitical tensions, alongside increased prices for raw materials such as stainless steel, copper, and aluminium. In the second quarter of FY27, the company reported a 57.6% year-on-year decline in PAT, falling to Rs 38.5 crore.

Despite these margin pressures, the company is expanding its solar portfolio. It has unveiled a new 620 Wp solar PV module, the ‘Shakti On Roof’, utilizing 16-busbar TOPCon technology at its Pithampur facility in Madhya Pradesh. This new product line, which includes AI-powered inverters, is part of a broader effort to support the ‘Make in India’ initiative and targets agricultural and rooftop solar applications. The company has also commenced trial production at its 0.5 GW solar module capacity facility and maintains an outstanding order book of Rs 751 crore.
