ARC Resources shareholders approved Shell’s $22 billion cash‑and‑share acquisition at a special meeting on 14 July 2026, clearing the way for a third‑quarter closing. On 29 July 2026 Shell plc and its subsidiary Shell Canada reiterated that the deal, which assumes ARC’s debt, exchanges ARC shares for a mix of Shell stock and cash and carries a roughly 27 % premium. ARC’s Q2 2026 results show average production of 390,465 barrels of oil‑equivalent per day—a 9 % year‑over‑year rise—funds from operations of $816 million, cash flow from operating activities of $872 million, and net income of $353 million ($0.62 per share). Natural‑gas prices averaged $2.52 per Mcf, about 67 % above the AECO 7A index.
