Shinhan Financial Group is expanding its presence and service offerings in Vietnam through strategic partnerships and specialized consumer products.
Initially, the group announced an expansion of its partnership with Vingroup, Vietnam’s largest private conglomerate. Building on previous cooperation in automotive finance—which included $100 million in automobile loans for VinFast and installment financing for motorcycles—the collaboration is moving into capital markets, insurance, and digital services. Shinhan Investment & Securities Vietnam is set to explore equity investment and M&A, and has been appointed as the sole financial arranger for Vingroup’s first ‘Arirang Bond’ planned for the fourth quarter.
Following this, Shinhan Bank introduced new life-stage financial solutions, including ‘K-Study’. This product is designed for Vietnamese students planning to study in South Korea, utilizing Shinhan’s ecosystem in both countries to manage expenses. The bank is also promoting ‘Flexi’ loans to support personal financial goals and lifestyle transitions.
