Shinhan Group AI financial service expansion
Overview
Shinhan Group entities in South Korea are expanding their use of artificial intelligence for automated financial services.
Shinhan Securities launched ‘Shinhan SOL Robo Pension’, an AI-based robo-advisor service for Individual Retirement Pension (IRP) customers. The service uses a proprietary AI quant model to automate ETF asset allocation, security selection, and portfolio rebalancing based on user profiles.
Following this, Shinhan Card began developing a next-generation autonomous AI engine. Supported by a Ministry of SMEs and Startups R&D project, this initiative aims to overcome current generative AI limitations by structuring complex regulations and policies into real-time product recommendations. The company intends to expand this technology from product recommendations to risk management, marketing, and customer consultation.
