Shunta Sono weather forecaster exam pursuit

Overview

Shunta Sono, a member of the Japanese dance and vocal group M!LK, has been pursuing a weather forecaster qualification. After previously passing the general knowledge portion of the exam in January, he sat for the specialized knowledge and practical skills components in August.

On October 10, Sono shared on social media that he was awaiting his results from the 66th weather forecaster examination. On October 12, he announced on the Nippon TV program ‘ZIP!’ that he did not pass the full examination. While he successfully passed the specialized knowledge section, he failed the practical skills portion.

Sono expressed his disappointment, stating, ‘It is frustrating. I feel I could have done more. I feel bad because I could not meet the expectations of my fellow members and fans.’ He indicated his intention to continue working toward his goal.
