Following a Marian vigil and pilgrimage on 28–29 July, the city prepared for further events, including the “Benedizione del Cotone” (Blessing of the Cotton) presided over by Archbishop Francesco Lomanto. This televised event serves as a symbolic gesture of consolation for those facing hardship.
