Following a Marian vigil and pilgrimage on 28–29 July, the city prepared for further events, including the “Benedizione del Cotone” (Blessing of the Cotton) presided over by Archbishop Francesco Lomanto. The commemorations concluded on 28–29 August with a diocesan youth pilgrimage and a dawn pilgrimage involving youth from the Diocese of Siracusa. Archbishop Lomanto presided over liturgical celebrations, emphasizing the event’s historical and identity-forming significance for the local community.
