Sierra de Guadarrama tourism programs
Overview
The Sierra de Guadarrama region has implemented several free guided programs to promote local tourism during the autumn and winter months.
Initially, the Organismo Autónomo Parques Nacionales (OAPN) announced a program consisting of 28 free guided routes and educational excursions in the Segovian region. These activities, scheduled for weekends, include nature-focused routes led by interpreter guides and thematic excursions led by specialists covering local history and landscapes.
Following this, the Centro de Innovación Turística (CIT) Sierra de Guadarrama introduced an astrotourism initiative titled ‘De Madrid al Cielo… de la Sierra de Guadarrama’. Running from late October through December, this program offers 18 guided nocturnal observation activities across 14 municipalities, such as Alpedrete, Cercedilla, Guadarrama, and Navacerrada, allowing participants to observe celestial events like meteor showers.
