Sistan-Baluchestan province issues

In late July 2026 Iran announced a series of load‑shedding schedules to manage summer electricity demand. The tables released on 24 July listed staggered cut‑off times for eight zones in Tehran province and detailed interruption periods for cities across Sistan‑Baluchestan, such as Zabol, Chabahar, Iranshahr and Khash, typically between 11 am and 2 pm. Authorities advised residents to check the official Bargh Man portal for exact timings.

A few days later, on 29 July, Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence reported a separate operation in Sistan‑Baluchestan. Security forces dismantled four terrorist cells linked to a takfiri group, arresting 15 suspects and seizing weapons in several cities, including Zahedan, Chabahar, Iranshahr, Khash and others. The ministry indicated the suspects were planning sabotage of economic and critical infrastructure, and noted that additional cells had been neutralised earlier in the month.

These updates illustrate concurrent challenges in Sistan‑Baluchestan: routine electricity rationing to cope with peak demand and heightened security actions against alleged terrorist networks.
