Experts warned that consuming raw or undercooked fish with Anisakis larvae can cause anisakiasis, and recommended cooking fish to 63 °C or using rapid freezing to ensure safety.

Following these reports, the ICAR-Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) in India issued an advisory stating that tuna caught along the Indian coast remains safe to consume. CMFRI Director Dr. Grinson George clarified that findings from the Atlantic Ocean off Brazil should not be generalized to other regions, as parasite levels are influenced by local ecological factors. While confirming safety, the institute advised consumers to follow standard food safety practices, such as thorough cleaning and high-temperature cooking.
