Skopje bridge infrastructure development
Overview
Infrastructure development in Skopje has progressed toward the final phase of a new bridge construction project on Ljubljanska Street. Designed to connect Ljubljanska and Skupi streets, the bridge aims to provide a new traffic link between the northern and western parts of the city, improving access to Zlokukjani, Bardovci, and the Industrial Zone while reducing congestion on Partizanski Odredi and Ilindenska boulevards.
Officials, including Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski and Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, inspected the site and noted that the project is expected to be operational by the end of the year. The construction includes a 12-meter wide roadway with four lanes, pedestrian paths, and bicycle paths. Previous delays regarding permits from the Conservation Center for the protection of the ‘Skupi’ site have been resolved. Additionally, work is continuing on a 70,000 square meter mega park in the Karposh municipality.
