SM Prime Holdings business expansion and performance

SM Prime Holdings reported strong performance for the first half of 2026, driven by steady foot traffic and consumer interest in community-driven experiences. Growth was supported by the expansion of sports and entertainment facilities, including the operation of 86 pickleball courts and the launch of the SM Seaside Cebu Arena. The company also introduced Premier Suites in July 2026 to serve corporate clients during live events.

Building on this performance, the company announced plans to add approximately 70,000 square meters of gross floor area to its regional mall portfolio. Scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026, these expansions will target the Western Visayas, Calabarzon, and Bicol regions. Key projects include a 35,000-square-meter mixed-use development at SM City Iloilo North Block, a 26,000-square-meter expansion at SM City Sto. Tomas, and a 9,000-square-meter addition at SM City Naga. SM Prime President Jeffrey C. Lim noted that these developments aim to support economic hubs by creating local employment and opportunities for MSMEs.
