Snowflake product and partnership expansions

Overview

Snowflake has introduced several updates regarding security integrations and artificial intelligence capabilities. The company expanded its partnership with Wiz to allow customers to store and analyze security data within Snowflake security data lakes, aiming to centralize incident response and reporting. Alongside this, Snowflake announced the general availability of automated Snowpipe setup using Snowflake CoCo to streamline data loading through natural-language conversations.

Further developments at the Expedition 2026 event focused on enhancing AI agent functionality and enterprise governance. Snowflake introduced the Business Ontology to provide agents with approved definitions for business concepts to improve data accuracy. The Cortex AI Gateway is now generally available to provide governance over agent connections and spending. Additional tools, including MCP Tools and features for agent abuse detection and trace intelligence, are currently in preview stages.
