In July 2026, São Paulo Futebol Clube began assessing alternative home venues because the Morumbi stadium would be unavailable after the World Cup break due to a series of concerts. The club’s technical staff also considered a tactical shift to a three-midfielder formation, while management weighed options such as the Cícero de Souza Marques stadium in Bragança Paulista, Vila Belmiro in Santos, and the Pacaembu, noting fan travel and off-side technology concerns. By early August 2026, the concerts, including a Harry Styles show, had taken place, prompting temporary pitch closure and the need for extensive grass restoration before matches could resume at Morumbi. During this period, São Paulo FC played home games at alternative venues. To modernize operations, the club moved to a five-year agreement with Ticketmaster Brasil, replacing the previous administrator, Total Acesso. The deal, which awaits approval from the club’s Administrative and Deliberative Councils, includes a financial package where Ticketmaster will advance R$110 million as a loan to be repaid over five years via match revenue, with monthly repayments capped at R$1.8 million. An additional R$30 million will be paid for Ticketmaster to manage the ‘Camarote 29A’ corporate space and assist with musical event operations. The partnership also transfers the ‘Sócio-torcedor’ fan membership program to Ticketmaster to consolidate services. While administrative fees for fans may reach up to 10% per ticket, the club expects that combining ticket and membership management under one provider will reduce overall costs. By September 2026, the club established a new deadline of late September to settle outstanding image rights payments to players, following a missed deadline in early August. Management noted that while CLT-based salaries are up to date, settling these arrears depends on the approval of the Ticketmaster contract.
