Solar energy expansion in Córdoba, Argentina

Overview

In the Córdoba province of Argentina, renewable energy initiatives are expanding through new solar infrastructure projects.

In the provincial capital, construction has commenced on a sustainable parking facility at the Centro Cívico. This project, involving the Córdoba Provincial Energy Company (EPEC), requires an investment of over 4 billion pesos. The facility will include 1 MW of photovoltaic infrastructure, which is expected to power between 160 and 200 homes or support climate control for government buildings while providing parking for 360 vehicles.

Additionally, in the city of Brinkmann, the local municipality and the Cooperativa de Obras y Servicios Públicos Brinkmann Ltda. have inaugurated a 100 kW community solar park. Located at a sewage treatment plant, the installation uses 192 solar panels and is projected to produce 205 MWh annually. The energy will primarily power the treatment plant, with surplus electricity being injected into the local grid for community use.
