Solomon Islands water infrastructure development
Overview
Water access and sanitation infrastructure are being expanded across the Solomon Islands through various community and humanitarian projects.
In Western Province, the Noro-Ziata Water Supply Project, part of the broader Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Sector Project, delivered three storage tanks to the Ziata community to support local initiatives and Goldie Secondary School.
Simultaneously, humanitarian efforts are targeting rural health clinics. In Western Province, the Adventist Development and Relief Agency, with support from World Vision and the Australian Government, provided training on rainwater catchment and hygiene practices at clinics on Simbo, Ranongga, and Kolobangara islands. In Malaita Province, the Sinamauri Rural Healthcare Centre received a new water tank through a partnership between the Australian Government, the Solomon Islands Government, and UNICEF to improve water availability for patients and staff.
