Sony refreshes headphones and expands Hello Kitty tie-in 1000X series with luxury model and XM6 updates

Sony has expanded its premium wireless headphone portfolio with the release of the WH-1000XM6. This new model features advanced noise cancellation technology powered by an HD QN3 processor and twelve dedicated microphones that automatically adjust isolation by analyzing environmental sounds. Developed with input from Grammy-winning professionals, the WH-1000XM6 includes 30mm drivers compatible with high-resolution audio, the DSEE Extreme system, and a customizable 10-band equalizer. Unlike some entry-level models, the WH-1000XM6 returns to a foldable design and includes a magnetic-closure hard case. This release complements the refreshed WH-1000XM4C, which features updated sound tuning and new color options like Platinum Silver and Lavender. Sony’s broader lineup updates also include the mid-range WH-CH730N and the entry-level WH-CH530. Additionally, Sony continues its limited-edition Hello Kitty collaboration, which includes the WH-1000XM6, WH-CH730N, and WH-CH530 headphones paired with specially designed bags. Sony is further diversifying the 1000X series by entering the luxury market with the new ‘Sony 1000X The ColleXion’. This model utilizes metal and premium faux leather to compete with high-end brands, offering adaptive noise cancellation and 26 hours of battery life with ANC enabled, though it lacks a foldable design and USB-C wired audio support. Meanwhile, the flagship WH-1000XM6 has seen price reductions on certain retail platforms. The XM6 continues to support the LDAC format for high-quality audio and offers approximately 30 hours of battery life.
