Sophia Laforteza, leader of the international girl group KATSEYE, has announced a temporary hiatus to prioritize her mental health and wellness. Following advice from medical professionals, the hiatus involves an extended period of rest and ongoing care, with a reassessment of her condition expected in September. Management via HYBE x Geffen Records confirmed that Laforteza will be unable to participate in upcoming promotions. While the group intends to proceed with projects such as the EP ‘Wild’ and the documentary ‘KATSEYE: WILD HEARTS’, Laforteza expressed heartbreak over missing commitments but noted the necessity of the decision for long-term career sustainability. Laforteza is the second member of the group to take a health-related hiatus this year, following Manon Bannerman.
