Overview

In early July 2026 South Africa required electronic traveller declarations for every border crossing, extending the use of its digital system to all entrants.

By the end of July, the Department of Home Affairs announced a draft regulation to add a R500 processing charge to the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system.
