South American music scene updates

Overview

The music scene in South America has seen a series of performances and upcoming event announcements across Chile and Argentina.

In late August, metalcore and post-hardcore bands Memphis May Fire and blessthefall performed in Santiago, Chile, as part of the Shapeshifter World Tour. Concurrently, the Ecuadorian alternative rock project Hombre Pez released the single ‘Dámela’.

By early September, several new performances and releases were announced for the region. In Chile, upcoming shows include Orishas at Gran Arena Monticello, Sleeping With Sirens at Teatro Coliseo, and Los Tetas in Valparaíso. The band Anttonias also released the single ‘Espíritu’. In Argentina, the Canadian band Alexisonfire is scheduled to perform in Buenos Aires in November to celebrate a 20th anniversary, alongside local performances by Carancho and La Tico.
