In late July 2026, Brazil’s Sociedade Brasileira de Angiologia e Cirurgia Vascular launched the August Blue and Red campaign to raise awareness of vascular diseases and stroke. In Teresina, the campaign featured a health run and public fair. As the campaign progressed, the focus shifted toward providing psychological support and debunking myths. Experts, including neonatologist Estelita Lima, emphasized that while initial insecurity is natural, persistent difficulties should not be normalized. The campaign also addressed the emotional toll on women facing low milk supply or health complications, noting that maternal bonds are not defined solely by breastfeeding. In late August, Cuiabá expanded its public health efforts. The city launched the “Beabá do Sorriso” pilot program in eight local schools, involving municipal health and education secretariats to promote oral hygiene through supervised brushing and the distribution of hygiene kits.
