South Korea’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport has initiated several large-scale public housing projects to increase residential supply in the metropolitan area. In late September 2026, the government designated two new public housing districts in Goyang and Uiwang. The Goyang Daegok Knowledge Convergence District and the Uiwang Ojeon-Wanggok District are expected to provide a combined 23,000 housing units.
