The rollout of the Hyundai IONIQ 3 continues across Europe and Turkey. Produced at Hyundai’s Izmit plant in Turkey—a facility that received a 250 million euro investment—the IONIQ 3 is a key pillar for the European market. Production at Izmit is expected to reach approximately 27,000 units by the end of 2026, with 23,000 units designated for export and a target of 40,000 export units by 2027. Orders for the IONIQ 3 have officially opened in the UK and Europe. The vehicle has drawn attention for a cost-saving design strategy where the driver’s instrument cluster is an optional extra on base trims. In these configurations, drivers must rely on the central Pleos Connect multimedia screen—based on Android Automotive OS—to view speed and vehicle status. In South Korea, the 9.9-inch display can be added for approximately 350,000 won, while in the UK, the display is included starting from the second trim level. Technical specifications include a 400-volt system and battery options of 42.2 kWh or 61 kWh, providing WLTP ranges between 344 and 497 kilometers. The ‘Aero Hatch’ design features a 0.263 drag coefficient. The model features the Pleos Connect system, which includes the Gleo AI voice assistant, and is expected to be deployed across roughly 20 million Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles by the end of the decade. Recently, the IONIQ 3 was named a finalist for the Premio Auto Europa 2027 organized by the Unione Italiana Giornalisti dell’Automotive (UIGA). The model has expanded its European presence, with the 42.2 kWh Select model becoming eligible for environmental incentives in France, such as the reinforced CEE bonus, which can reduce the starting price significantly. In Spain, the IONIQ 3 N Line is being marketed with discounts and a 14.6-inch infotainment screen.
