Overview

In late July 2026 organizers announced the Extremadura circuit semifinals (8 Aug in Zarza la Mayor, 15 Aug in Torrecillas de la Tiesa) and the Castilla‑León circuit final for 2 Aug in Herrera de Pisuerga, where young bullfighters Raquel Martín, Salvador Herrero and Jorge Oliva were slated to appear with six novillos from the José Enrique Fraile farm. Further updates reported that Miguel García of the Salamanca School of Tauromaquia made a spectacular debut in Lanzahíta, Ávila, earning two ears and a double trophy. In the Castilla‑León circuit, Segovian novillero Jorge Oliva, now in his third novillada with picadors, reached the Herrera de Pisuerga final after earlier victories in Alba de Tormes and Roa de Duero. On 2 August the Gran Final crowned Jorge Oliva the circuit champion; he, Salvador Herrero and Raquel Martín each cut an ear from a José Enrique Fraile bull, while the bull Lirito (n5) received the traditional “vuelta al ruedo.” The week following the final saw additional festival results. In Herrera de Pisuerga Jorge Oliva was named one of the three best toreros of the Castilla‑León circuit after cutting an ear, with the event concluding safely. In Lanzahíta Miguel García repeated his strong debut, earning two ears and a shoulder‑exit in a non‑picador novillada.
