Spanish drone technology defense integration

Overview

Spanish drone and aerospace technology firms are increasingly engaging in defense-related innovation and validation programs.

In early September, NATO selected the Spanish company Vig-Sec Drone to participate in the ‘Mission Track’ phase of its innovation accelerator. The firm’s Suite ACRE platform was chosen as one of 15 projects intended to advance technological solutions for security and defense challenges.

Later in the month, aerospace companies and technological centers in Valencia launched a validation program in collaboration with the Spanish Army. This initiative, involving entities such as the Universitat Politècnica de València and the Lusitania Cavalry Regiment, utilizes real military maneuvers to test drones and advanced systems from companies including Dendrite Technologies, AIDIMME, Orbotix, Voltrac, and Valyra Aerospace.
