Spanish film festival announcements and conclusions

Various film festivals in Spain have announced upcoming editions and concluded annual ceremonies. The 55th ALCINE film festival, a qualifying event for the Oscars and Goya Awards, has selected 46 short films for its National and European competitions.

The 25th Benalmádena International Film Festival (Ficcab) has concluded, with its closing ceremony honoring actors Kira Miró and Víctor Clavijo for their career achievements. Miró compared the acting profession to “navigating an ocean,” while Clavijo discussed his family’s connection to cinema.

Regarding upcoming events, the Filmoteca de la Región de Murcia ‘Francisco Rabal’ has launched the second edition of Filmoclip, seeking music videos from Murcian filmmakers for sessions in November. The deadline for these six-minute submissions is November 9. Meanwhile, the 21st La Tijera – Festival de Cortos Villa de La Orotava has opened registration for its November 9–14 event, which features sections for Spanish nationals and Canary Islands residents.
