Other regional initiatives include the Petrer City Council, which launched a campaign to frame prostitution consumption as a form of violence, and an educational lecture in Menorca featuring activist Amelia Tiganus. Tiganus, a survivor of human trafficking, discussed the links between sexual violence, pornography, and the prostitution system, advocating for abolitionist models similar to those in France.
As the international observance approaches on September 23, organizations such as Apramp and Médicos del Mundo are conducting awareness campaigns in Spain. Apramp reported that 3,936 individuals were identified at risk of exploitation during the first half of 2026. Activists continue to emphasize the distinction between human trafficking—the recruitment and transport process—and exploitation, the resulting condition of the victim, while calling for legislative action against transnational criminal networks.
