Sparkle Seabone network development
Overview
Sparkle, an international services provider and part of the TIM Group, has reached several milestones regarding its Seabone global Tier-1 IP transit backbone. The network, which began operations in September 1996 with limited connections, has expanded into the seventh largest Tier-1 Internet network globally, operating over 600,000 kilometers of proprietary fiber optic infrastructure.
Building on this infrastructure, Sparkle has achieved Gold-tier status in the Google Verified Peering Provider (VPP) programme. This certification recognizes the company’s ability to provide reliable and redundant connectivity to Google’s global network, offering enterprise-grade access to services such as Google Cloud APIs and Google Workspace through geographically diverse connectivity.
