Speed camera system implementation failures
Overview
A Sayıştay audit report has identified significant software and implementation failures during the replacement of speed detection camera systems. The transition from an older system to a new one supplied by Radarsan has resulted in incomplete software integration, preventing detected violations from being converted into fines.
According to the report, approximately 600,334,571.18 TL in speeding violation fines could not be processed, representing a potential public loss. Additionally, while payments were made for 150 cameras, 20 mobile units have not yet been delivered or activated. CTP Member of Parliament Fazilet Özdenefe noted that the findings suggest potential criminal liability for negligence or misconduct and highlighted a lack of documentation regarding the replacement of the previous system.
