Star Wars exhibition at Franklin Institute

In mid‑July 2026 Lucasfilm and Disney announced a large‑scale museum‑style exhibition, "Star Wars: The Experience – A Journey Through the Galaxy," slated to open at Philadelphia’s Franklin Institute in February 2027. The first notice highlighted an 18,000 m² venue featuring more than 70 original props—including Darth Vader’s armor, C‑3PO, R2‑D2, Darth Maul’s lightsaber and a Grogu animatronic—and a preview at San Diego Comic‑Con.

A second notice later in July confirmed the permanent exhibit’s opening date and gave a more detailed description of the visitor experience.
