Start of the 2026/27 school year in Poland

As the 2026/27 school year approached in Poland, weather forecasts indicated regional variations, with warmer temperatures expected in the east and south and cooler conditions in the north and west.

Following the transition into September, the academic year officially commenced in several municipalities. In Barwice, local officials attended formal assemblies to welcome students, while in Garwolin, the start of the year was marked by ceremonies where 16 educators and kindergarten staff received professional appointments and took formal oaths of duty.

Recent developments show the academic year is characterized by significant infrastructure updates and professional milestones. In Barwałd Średni, School Complex No. 7 inaugurated a new gymnasium and sanitary facilities valued at nearly 4 million PLN. In Majdan Królewski, over 800 students returned to facilities following renovations to classrooms and facades. Further infrastructure investment is planned for an agricultural school in Rudna, with an expected expansion valued at 30 million PLN. However, in Garwolin, classes at Primary School No. 5 have been delayed until September 7 due to ongoing electrical modernization.

Professional advancements continue to be noted, with 40 teachers in Mielec and 16 in Dębica receiving official appointments for higher professional status. The national academic calendar has been established, spanning from September 1, 2026, to June 25, 2027, and includes scheduled winter and spring breaks alongside examination dates for eighth-graders and high school seniors.
