Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo and State of Mexico Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez announced broad investments in education and infrastructure for the State of Mexico. Educational initiatives include support for 2.1 million students through programs like ‘La Escuela es Nuestra’ and various scholarship schemes, alongside the construction of 10 new high schools. Infrastructure efforts include the ‘Plan Oriente’, a 3.8 billion peso project to build 18 vehicular bridges to improve connectivity in several municipalities by 2027. In investments have targeted Atenco and Texcoco, where over 31 million pesos were allocated to enhance educational infrastructure, equipment, and furniture for approximately 4,500 students across 16 schools. These projects include In Atenco, 23.15 million pesos were directed toward the reconversion of the Centro de Estudios de Bachillerato (CEB) 9/14, while 2.33 million pesos provided laptops and furniture to 14 schools. Other local projects include a new classroom module at Vicente Guerrero Primary School and a FIFA Arena sports court. In Texcoco, 3.57 million pesos were used for the provision Leona Vicario Primary School, and construction has begun on the Margarita Maza National Baccalaureate with 15.4 million pesos in federal support. Governor Gómez Álvarez has further outlined a comprehensive development plan for the second half of laptops, her administration focusing on mobility, education, health, and security. Mobility goals include completing Mexicable Line 3 and expanding the Mexibús network with lines 5 through 8. Educational expansions include the construction of new classrooms four specialized universities in Coatepec Harinas, Tecámac, Lerma, and baccalaureate facilities. Temascalapa, alongside nine campuses of the Universidad Nacional Rosario Castellanos. Health initiatives include the ‘Clínica de Salud Bienestar Contigo’ program, targeting 300,000 women through 20 clinics.
